Allenspark, Right up the Mountain from famous Estes Park
The Cabin is not a long drive from the Denver Airport. If you are traveling and go thru Lyons, there is a grocery store called St. Vrain Market, that has a lot of essentials and organic goodies. Further up the mountain and a few minutes from the house, is Ferncliff, there are several places to shop, and they have a gas pump. Also, the nostalgic Meeker Park Grocery is great in the summer and is next to Meeker Park Riding Stables, where you can book group trail rides. There is a Safeway Grocery store in Estes Park. Once you have settled in, hike the trails right out the back door of the Tahosa Ranch Cabin for days! See breathtaking horizons and fabulous scenery. View wildlife from the window, you should see elk, possibly bears, mule deer, chipmunks, cool birds, moose.
Ski Eldora! The perfect Ski Resort just a short, mountain road, drive away. Awesome ski school and The Carona Club at the peak for the parents. Manufactured snow enhances the powder!
Start kids out fishing at Trout Haven, Estes Park. Trout Haven supplies the poles and the bait, you catch trout, they will filet them and you can take them home! There are go kart tacks, mini golf, bumper boats and much more at Fun City, in Estes Park. Great Golf Course in Estes. Rock Wall Climbing, Ropes Course, Food Trucks. Fly Fish and Raft in the Big Thompson River. Kirk's Fly Shop provides Guided Fly Fishing, Float Trips, Horseback/Fishing, Llama Pack Trips and Backpacking. Estes Park is about a 15-minute drive down the mountain from the cabin. Once in Estes Park, The Stanley Hotel has holiday fun like fireworks, ghost tours, dinners, and more. There are lots of great shops in town, Taffy, Candy Apples, Chocolate, A Christmas Store, Toy Mountain, Sports Hound!! Art and Jewelry, Ute Native American inspired shops. You will pass Eagleplume's on the way to town and view their unique collection, incredible art and books, including copies the interesting biography of Ann Strange Owl, once owner of the shop. Also, on the same road, the Chapel of the Rock, a famous church that has been the subject of many photographs and art pieces.
The cabin is 25 minutes to Lyons and 40 minutes to Boulder/Longmont. Check out Boulder right down the road for a fun filled day! Ski Eldora nearby! We hope you will choose Tahosa Ranch for a majestic Mountain Trip! Happy Travels!

The house is outfitted with custom ponderosa pine woodwork. and decorated with local findings from the Allenspark Visitor Center Gallery, Eagleplumes'

The custom Shuffleboard table provides hours of fun for everyone! Information on trails available at the house. Biographies of local people of interest, histories of Native American People and the surrounding area, tons of board games, card games and many children's books available in our library. Tahosa Ranch is a wonderful mountain home for rent near the Rocky Mountain National Park, Long's Peak and the Wild Basin. Our dream is to share Tahosa Ranch and its access to the National Forest with you!
