The perfect place to take in the mountains, with no interruptions. Beautiful, hand crafted, log mountain home features vaulted ceilings with log beams and two stone fireplaces. The home is situated on 5.55 acres, bordering National Forest.
Tahosa Ranch is a recreation enthusiasts dream with biking, hiking, fishing and horseback riding just out your front door. The PRIVATE access to National Forest and forest trail system makes for gorgeous hikes. The house is across Highway 7 from Copeland Falls and Lake and The Wild Basin and its entrance to the Rocky Mountain National Park. Wood burning stone fireplaces on main & lower level make for two separate living areas. The third level loft is great for kids and anyone who wants a bird's eye view. There is a warm & spacious Kitchen, Dining and Library/Rec Room. Enjoy the great outdoors on the deck with views of Mt Meeker, a year-round stream and Aspen grove. The property is beautiful, the three-story cabin is placed in a mountainside meadow. Horse Creek runs in front of the house. Abundant wildlife live in the area including moose, deer and turkey. There are a ton of fun things to do in Estes Park, www.vistestespark.com has most of the contacts that you will need.
If you are coming thru Lyons, there is a grocery called St. Vrain Market, that has a lot of essentials and goodies. Ferncliff is close to the cabin and has several places to shop for groceries and spirits. A nostalgic grocery at Meeker Park, can be found, near the house, they also have a riding stable. There is a Safeway Grocery store in Estes.
We like to start our kids out fishing at Trout Haven, Estes Park. Trout Haven supplies the poles and the bait, you catch trout, they will filet them and you can take them home! We like to fly fish and raft in the Big Thompson River and we call Kirk's Fly shop, they set up Guided Fly Fishing, Float Trips, Horseback/fishing, Llama Pack trips and Backpacking. Hike the trails right out the back door for days! See breathtaking horizons. Go through the Rocky Mountain National Park to look at the wildlife, you should see elk, possibly bears, mule deer, chipmunks at Rainbow Curve!! cool birds, we are always on the lookout for a moose. You should be able to see all of those near the creek in front of the house and coming up and down the mountain from the porches of the house. Estes Park is about a 15 minute drive down the mountain from the cabin and we like to go to The Stanley Hotel for fireworks!, dinners, tours and fun. There are lots of great shops, Taffy, Art and Jewelry, Ute Native American inspired shops. You will pass Eagleplume's on the way to town and if they are open, go in, as they are very interesting to meet and view their amazing collection.
